On different notes, Val and I discovered and named three birds living in our chimney: Dale, Marty and Norby. They are there, and they are always listening.
This is my last day in the office working an 8-5, and I am so happy about it. I've been covering all week for the other girl who has been covering for me when I've been off teaching, and I am about to blow something up. I have worked office jobs for the last 5 or 6 years, and I can't remember feeling more antsy than I do now. Perhaps that's because during the school-year, my office time is my only chance to get homework done so I am constantly on-the-go. But...I don't have any homework right now, and all I do is sit on facebook and refresh the home page very couple minutes to see if anybody has updated their status. Seriously. I. DO. THAT. And the worst part is that its all subconscious. I can't believe I have become this pathetic. I'm grateful for my job, and the flexibility it has given me to travel and teach, but if I have to sit here much longer doing nothing, I might freak out a little bit, and I'll never get any sleep because RLS will kill me.
RLS. Now, what a stupid thing to have. I don't have it all the time, but....when it kicks in, it really works me over. There is nothing more irritating than lying in bed and being SO close to falling asleep and not being able to because your legs decide its time to do a little dance, or itch from the inside. Exhausted from the week, I tossed and turned and twitched from about 7pm on last night as I went in and out of sleep, wondering if cutting my legs off would be an ideal solution. After very little conscious deliberation, I concluded that I needed my legs and fell asleep.
So that's that. I love sweat pants and blankets. I love watching Disney movies while its raining. I love my lunch break today, and I am excited for a Saturday of relaxation.
Where. Are. You. Now. Come sew with me.
